The Sober Parrot, ‘It’s no joke’ campaign

Created as a pastiche of Victorian pub advertising, the set of four printed mirrors for the alcohol-free venue uses the idea of clichéd bar humour to deliver a sobering campaign of alcohol awareness. By jumbling some of the most recognisable lines from the genre into a nonsensical paragraph, the mirrors show that alcoholism is ‘no joke’. The reflected typography achieves an added bonus of ‘double-vision’. The viewer can only read the text clearly by ‘standing straight’ in front of the mirror.
